This past week, I’ve really taken the time to tend to my nervous system.
After a full-on week last week, with the start of my cycle and a lot of work on, as well as going to the snow and learning to snow board, I noticed how frazzled my nervous system was.
In the past few weeks, I’ve also had some massive triggers come up for me, that I’ve really needed to reflect upon and process.
My nervous system has been incredibly heightened and dysregulated,
Not to mention I’ve been extremely emotional. (A side effect of a dysregulated nervous system.)
Have you ever got to the point, where you just feel things are too much?
Feeling overwhelmed with all that you are experiencing?
I get it.
With a super sensitive nervous system, this can happen quite often for me and learning how to heal and regulate my nervous system, along with my emotions and thoughts has been incredibly empowering.
Not to mention continually working on my beliefs systems, that in the past has affected how much I take on, only to end up completely over-committed and feeling that I don’t have enough time to get everything done…..
Following our biological impulses, to let off steam, or allow the emotions to process through the nervous system, means that our fight/flight or freeze responses are no longer jammed on for long periods of time. (Causing burnout and all sorts of other dis-eases in the body long term.)
Life is always happening, but when we’ve built capacity, to let things flow as they arise, your body is able to come back down to a much more settled state (improving your bodies capacity to heal and recover, much faster.)
I experienced this after my van got towed last Friday.
I felt a well of emotions rise up from within as I jumped back into my partners car after the van was picked up, and I just let myself cry.
Like really cry, you know the good ugly cry type, yep that’s what I’m talking about.
The beautiful thing was literally within 3-5 mins it was all processed and I was able to immediately feel better again and get on and have a great day and a great rest of the trip with my partner.
No suppression, no masking it, no pushing it down, no brave face, just feeling it all and naturally coming back to a beautiful state.
This has taken me many years to get to the point, where I’m comfortable enough to just openly cry and just allow my body to do what it needs to.
And it’s so freeing and so fast and effective!
