Magical Moments

Years ago when I was creating a new vision for my life and who I was becoming, I had on my list, that I wanted to create more magical moments for my girls.

When we are tired, stressed, and exhausted as Mumma’s, it’s so easy to gloss over moments, to be in such a hurry that we forget how quickly time goes by and how fast our kids grow up.

When I look back now, I’m so glad I committed to that for myself. It wasn’t that I did it every day or did it perfectly at all, but it did make me incredibly more mindful of how special each moment in life is.

Having the hindsight now as a Mumma whose babies have flown the nest, (and started their own family) it’s honestly the everyday moments that I miss the most.

The kitchen banter, the last-minute shopping for something, the celebration of a success or a win, the in-depth conversations on our car drives, sharing a meal, hearing what was important to each of my girls individually, the cackling, raucous laughter from something funny on Tiktok or youtube.

The many uncontrollable tears of laughter after a funny comment, a look, a smile, a hug, a special moment in time when you truly take in the beauty of your own child and it takes your breath away and expands your love and heart in a way that you didn’t know was possible.

These and so many more are my favourite moments of raising my girls. We did some amazing trips together and celebrated some wonderful things along the way, but it’s these everyday moments that were truly magical to me.

A little note in their lunchbox at school, or a special trip to the park, lighting a candle with music as we wrote in our gratitude books sometimes at night, the board games, all of those things were simple ideas that popped into my head about creating magical moments for my girls, not knowing that I was actually creating so many magical moments for myself in the process….

In the stress of trying to make everything work and get everything done, we can lose our ability to be present in the moment.

Just for today, take a breath.
Just for today, ask yourself what really matters most to you in life.
Just for today, take in the gift that you are, and the gift that your loved ones are for you.

In the end, I truly believe, love is all that really matters,
How much love did we truly share and give to others and ourselves?
This is what I believe, creates true JOY in our life.

Love and Blessings,
Sal x
